Lift Me Up - Rihanna - Lyrics !!BETTER!!

Co-written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson and director Ryan Coogler, "Lift Me Up" is a tribute to the life and legacy of actor Chadwick Boseman who died in 2020, as his role playing King T'Challa/Black Panther affixed him as an iconic figure to the Black community. "Lift Me Up" is tender at its core, Rihanna's vocals paired with sentimental lyrics taking center stage among a swirling interplay of strings. "Burning in a hopeless dream / Hold me when you go to sleep," she sings. "Keep me in the warmth of your love / When you depart, keep me safe / Safe and sound."

Lift Me Up - Rihanna - Lyrics

The upbeat melody (reminiscent of early superhero animations) is well juxtaposed with the telling lyrics and shocking visual revelations to create a memorable musical villain reveal. The original song has been adored by fans, and the popularity has contributed to Agatha's upcoming spin-off, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

It's full of small details that make it that much more entertaining, whether it be the cameos from the cast in the music video or the lyrics poking fun at Gamora's "Zardu Hasselfrau" line. Plus, having David Hasselhoff himself feature on the groovy track made it that much more iconic.

The quick rhythm and smooth, baritone vocals provide the intensity needed for the equally high-energy display of Shang-Chi's skills, with the beat's build-up accurately reflecting the snowballing tension and the plot's suspense. Not to mention how adeptly the lyrics - which preach about confidence, affluence, and self-worth - fit Shang-Chi's character development and mastery as the film progresses.

SZA's soothing vocals combine with Lamar's more abrasive lyrics to symbolize the struggle of finding oneself and staying true amidst a power-motivated world, drawing direct parallels to the film's central themes and T'Challa's journey of discovery. It's an emotionally-charged song of empowerment, a fitting end to the culturally important film.

The retro music and vintage vibes intertwine with Niki's slowed pop vocals to seamlessly merge the old with the new, a recurring motif within the film. The sweet lyrics about an evergreen love perfectly fit Wenwu's past, and the subtle references to complex family dynamics even more so. Also, the music video celebrates Asian diasporas, something done more subtly in the film and much more extensively in Niki's other music.

Rihanna's tribute to Chadwick Boseman proves to be the raw and emotional touch needed to honor the hero's contributions, both in and outside the Black Panther mantle. The song's slow melody and soft instrument additions give it the feel of a loved one's gentle lullaby as they lay the listener to rest, with her soothing lyrics and withheld vocals showcasing both the heartache and immense affection behind the song. 041b061a72
